FLORIDA BAR RENEWS KING’S BOARD CERTIFICATION
IN CIVIL TRIAL LAW

ORLANDO, Fla. (October 24, 2007) – The Orlando law firm of Dellecker, Wilson, King, McKenna & Ruffier announced today that the Florida Bar has renewed firm partner Samuel P. King’s board certification in Civil Trial Law through 2012. King was first certified in 1997.

“The public [relies] upon the fact that board certified lawyers are preeminent in competence and ethics,” according to Christopher Knopik, chair of the Florida Bar‟s Board of Legal Specialization and Education. Regarding King‟s recertification, Knopik added, “As a board certified lawyer, you have, in the eyes of the Supreme Court of Florida, the distinction of having „special knowledge, skills and proficiency in your practice area, as well as character, ethics and a reputation for professionalism in the practice of law.”

In addition to his board certification in civil trial law, King is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, indicating that he is recognized by his peers to have the highest levels of skill and integrity. His practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, defective products, premises liability and insurance company bad faith.

To become board certified, civil trial lawyers must practice law for at least five years, be substantially involved (30% or more) in civil trial law for three years and conduct at least 15 contested civil cases in courts of general jurisdiction, including cases before a jury and as lead counsel. Certified lawyers also must pass peer review, complete 50 hours of continuing legal education within a three year period and pass a written examination demonstrating knowledge, skills and proficiency in the field of civil trial law.
