A quick glance at the cell phone to dial a number or read a text message may seem harmless, but in fact it can be a deadly decision. According to the National Safety Council, at least 1.6 million crashes occur each year as a result of distracted drivers using cell phones. Here are three things that you can do to stop the temptation of using your cell phone while driving. 1) Turn your cell phone off while driving. This will eliminate the temptation to quickly look at your phone. 2) If you have to call or text while driving, pull off the road safely and stop. 3) Don’t call or text people at times when you know they are likely to be driving.
