Bill earned his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1986 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1983. He is a member of the Florida Bar, American Board of Trial Advocates, Florida Justice Association, Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association, Orange County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.
He is a board-certified civil trial lawyer since 1994 and is admitted into all courts in the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court of the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Florida the Eleventh Circuit in the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Bill has received numerous distinctions, including AV Preeminent Rating through Martindale-Hubbell, Florida Super Lawyer (2006–2021), Florida Trend Legal Elite, The Best Lawyers in America, and the “Best of the Bar” recognition by Orlando Business Journal. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Faith and service are important to Bill, which can be seen in his leadership roles in the Central Florida Fair, Central Florida Gator Club, Boy Scouts of America (Central Florida Council), and Trinity Lutheran Church. In 2011, William received the Lutheran Lamb Award, a national award recognizing Mr. Ruffier’s 25 years of distinguished volunteer service as a Christian role model and leader for young people.
